EASTER DANCE FESTIVAL
WELL DONE TO CLAIR DAVISON WHO WON THE INTERMEDIATE CABARET CHAMPIONSHIP.
WELL DONE to everyone else who took part we won 11 1st places, 19 2nd places, 10 3rd places & 15
4th places.
Another great start to the year as regards to festivals with the competition pupils gaining 57 gold, 33 silver and 25 bronze. As well as taking 5 championships and over 25 trophies. A huge well done to all who took part.
After a huge success at the awards day in November we are pleased to say we have been invited back to perform 2 numbers in the AAD gala held in Blackpool on Sunday 9th May. The 2 troupes asked to returned are Miss Julie's junior entry 'Varsity Drag' and Miss J's senior troupe 'Hey Pachuco'. Well done to both troupes and good luck for the up coming event.
A huge well done to all pupils who took part in the AAD awards day competition at Blackpool. We had another good year with the junior troupes "After Dark" and "Varsity Drag" gaining 5th place, the senior troupe "Hey Pachuco" gained 2nd place in the new entries and "precious" gained 8th place in the main senior section. Well done to everyone and keep working hard.
Another fantastic time at the AAD annual scholarships which took place at Buxton opera House 18th October 2009. Lauren Moorhouse gained 1st place in the Junior section, whilst Alice Berry gained 1st place in the Intermediate section, Lucia Moulds 3rd place and Clair Davison 4th place. Another fantastic year well done everyone who took part.
Congratulations to Lauren Moorhouse, Alex Moorhouse, Chloe Barlow and Alice Berry who took part in the 4counties dance festival in Doncaster in October. We left winning many trophies and 4 counties championships. Also congratulations to Lauren and Alice for gaining places in the Bursary and to Alice Berry for winning the award.
Congratulations to all pupils who took part in the summer festival where we gained 60 1st places, 52 2nd places, 34 3rd places and 13 4th places as well as 4championships. Also we managed to take away a great total of 44 trophies. So well done for a lot of hard work.
Alice Berry, Clair Davison, Lucia Moulds and Simon Wagstaff were asked to perform at the annual teachers day conference in Derby, where the school was awarded 1st place for medal test Distinctions, 5th place for major exam results, 6th place medal test results and 8th place exam results.
Students have trained at London Studio Centre, Urdang Academy, Tring Park School, SLP Leeds and taken classes with Wayne Sleep.
School troupes have been awarded places in the A.A.D Awards competition in Blackpool and gained places in the A.A.D Gala showcases over the past 10years.
Students have danced @ Disneyland Resort Paris in July 2004 & 2008.
Pupils have taken part in many proffessional pantomimes @ Rotherham, Chesterfield, Halifax and Sheffield and works in partnership with Dinnington operatics society on their annual pantomime.
Students have performed at Sadlers Wells Theatre, London, Her Majesties Theatre, London and Palace Theatre, Manchester.
