Welcome to Julie Turner Stage Academy
The Stage Academy offers classes in all aspects of stage dance. Our modern studio is mirrored and has a wooden spring floor, ballet barres and changing rooms. Our emphasis is on fun whilst learning in a caring environment. Pupils are entered in BATD syllabus exams as well as medal tests. Festivals and other competition work is available for anyone wishing to take part.
We are a member school of the BATD (British Association of Teachers of Dance) and hold the recognised school status. All our teachers are CRB checked and are licensed chaperones with Rotherham Borough Council. The school opened in 1987 under the name ‘Happy Feet’ working out of local church halls. Following our move into Studio 32 we bacame Julie Turner Stage Academy. Core classes are tap, ballet and modern as well as lyrical, musical theatre, gymnastics, open tap and open ballet. Private lessons are available for grade work and festivals at very competitive prices. Our students have danced at Disneyland Paris, Her Majesty’s London, Coliseum London, Sadlers Wells London and Opera Houses in Blackpool and Buxton. Students have gone on to study at CAPA College, Laine Theatre Arts London, Studio Centre London, SLP College Leeds and Mountview as well as securing positions at the prestigious Disneyland Paris as dancers. Our new baby ballet classes are a fun and interactive class for mums and toddlers to join in together.
We pride ourselves on offering many different styles of dance and opportunities to pupils of all ages and at prices parents can afford, making dreams come true for promising pupils.

Dance classes are available from walking age upwards including our popular Mums & Tots classes. Baby Ballet and Melody Bear are also very popular for Pre School pupils. Supporting development through movement and play.
Melody Bear
Pre-School dance classes for 3-4 year olds. Ballet, Tap, Song and Dance and Modern. Dance like a butterfly. March like a soldier.
Mums & Tots
Walk, Dance and Play – perfect for first steps. For Mums, Dads and carers with children. Bond and connect – quality time together in a caring environment. From Walking age plus.
